Comment on Hootsuite Premium Pricing Shocker by Jeremy Williams

I completely agree with you guys. I think my biggest problem with the new Hootsuite paid models is two-fold.
1. They have completely eliminated team members unless you pay $20/month ($240/year seems a bit steep to just have 1 additional team member)
2. I feel like Hootsuite has pulled a big bait & switch - typically when services introduce paid services on top of their free service, their paid service includes upgraded features while their free service remains the way it always has. It's much less common to remove features from their free service and switch them to paid.

Just like you mentioned, I completely understand that Hootsuite has to make money and I'd be perfectly willing to pay for the service if I thought it was a reasonable amount. I just feel that they're essentially crippling the free service that I've long supported and defended and are overpricing their premium features.

I love that Hootsuite is web-based, but I really don't like Seesmic or CoTweet, so I'm looking for an alternative.

I actually did a writeup of some of the things I think HootSuite did wrong and ways they could have done a better job with the release of the paid plans here.
