Over the course of four weeks, Indy Media School’s Social Media for Business Workshop will help to lay the groundwork for your company or organization’s social media strategy by showing you the social media tools and how to effectively use them to your best advantage.
Session 1: Introduction to Social Media for Business
In this first session we set the foundation for success with social media. We look at how real world companies and organizations are using it and how it will fit into your marketing plan. We will look at why many organizations find their expectations donʼt square up with their results. Finally we will look at how to communicate effectively via social media.
Session 2: Twitter for Business
We will focus on Twitter best practices. What to do and what not to do will be part of the discussion and we will focus on tools that help you use Twitter more effectively.
Session 3: Facebook for Business
We will tackle the almighty Facebook. With over 500 million users, there are lots of opportunities as well as lots of pitfalls. We will discuss best practices and share real world examples of companies that are using Facebook effectively.
Session 4: The Social Universe for Business
In this session we will look at tools like LinkedIn, Foursquare, Social Bookmarking, Blogging, and more. Our goal for you after this session is to come away with a plan and know which social media tools make sense for your organization and which ones you can safely ignore. Each organization is different. So this important final session helps you avoid the cookie cutter approach and really explore how your organization is going to move forward with social media.
